Medical Laboratory Technologist NMC Royal Medical Centre

NMC Healthcare is presently looking to hire suitably qualified candidate for the job role of a Medical Laboratory Technologist. The successful candidate will work at NMC Royal Medical Centre located in Delma Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role holder is responsible performing various laboratory tests utilizing requisite lab equipments and instruments. Provide accurate, timely and cost effective testing of patient samples to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease according to the International Quality Accreditation standards and Quality Management system. Responsibilities of A Medical Laboratory Technologist

• Performs laboratory tests which may include various assays following established procedures or protocols.
• Operates requisite laboratory equipment and instruments; records data; maintains and makes minor adjustments to equipment.
• Uses universal / standard safety precautions to protect self and co-workers from biohazardous materials, including blood-borne pathogens.
• Complies with biohazard/radiation safety standards through proper handling of potentially hazardous chemical and biological agents in the workplace.
• Prepares solutions, reagents, and stains following standard laboratory formulas and procedures.
• Monitors inventory levels, orders materials and supplies in accordance with established policies and procedures, counts orders upon receipt.
• Knows the informal policies, procedures and practices necessary to conduct the normal function of a specific section, unit, or work area. Is aware of the role of the position and its potential impact on the working unit.
• Carries out duties and responsibilities with limited supervision.
• Makes decisions and establishes work priorities on essentially procedure-oriented operations.
• Must perform blood collection procedures in both pediatric and adult patients.
• Must order the reagents and spare parts with coordination of colleagues.
• Will not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything (information, equipment, plant, personnel, etc.), provided at the workplace in the interest of health, safety, welfare or protection or management of the environment.

Qualification Requirements for Role of Medical Laboratory Technologist

• B.Sc in Medical Technology or clinical laboratory science or an equivalent qualification requiring NLT 3 years training course.
• Graduate of an accredited (MLT) program leading to registration with ASCP/CSMLS or equivalent.
• NLT 2 years ofxperience in a clinical laboratory environment
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS).
• Valid DOH License.
• Valid Home Country Registration/License.
• Fluent in English & Arabic (preferable).
