Job Purpose of A Medical Coder At Danat

• Reports to the Senior Medical Coder / Coding Supervisor
• Review coding of medical cases, handling claims submission to payers and all revenue cycle / billing tasks assigned.
• The role is also responsible in ensuring the accuracy of the coding in patient health records.

Your Job Duties As A Medical Coder At Danat

• Participates in collaboration with the Line Manager to meet the division’s goals.
• Adheres to the division’s policy and standards.
• Provides recommendations towards improving the division’s policy and procedures.
• Participates in meetings and maintain professionalism and confidentiality as per the organization’s standard code of conduct.
• Timely completion of personal performance evaluation cycle.
• Reviews medical records documented by physicians, nurses and other clinical staff.
• Keep all medical records in place with no missing documentation.
• Checks and sequences the most accurate ICD10- CM/CPT/HCPCS/DRG/Other codes for diagnoses and procedures for documented information.
• Assures the final diagnoses and operative procedures stated by the physician are valid and complete.
• Abstracts all necessary information from health records to identify secondary complications and co morbid conditions.

Eligible Candidate?

Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management or any relevant field.

Experience

• Minimum 4-5 years of career experience.
• Relevant experience in a hospital / medical center environment within UAE.

Certification

• Coding certificate by AAPC / AHIMA.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

• Know how of DOH/DHA and HIPPA rules.
• Problem solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
