Serco is actively looking for Assistant Technician Airfield Civil Work Mason to carryout preventative, corrective & breakdown maintenance on masonry related tasks individually or as part of a technical team within the airfield civil works section, whilst ensuring minimal disruption to the facilities operations.

Responsibilities of Assistant Technician Airfield Civil Work Mason

• Ability to conform to all general & technical safety requirements at all times to ensure the health, safety & welfare of self & others.
• Can read interpret & describe functionality of civil works drawings (schematic & layout drawing).
• Major assets below including roads, airfield (runways, taxiways etc), pavements, aircraft parking stands, gullies & gutters, concrete slabs and Modular surfaces and concrete footways.
• Provide different maintenance to assets, in the capacity as team member and solo, periodic preventive maintenance, break down trouble shooting, inspections, condition assessment, condition based maintenance, corrective maintenance and configuration and modifications.
• Deliver tasks such as but not limited to  pavement repair works on the airfield, Road repair works, Conduct inspections to determine the need for repair, Sealing of expanding or contracting joints with caulking materials, Texturing and polishing, installing dressed stone, mixing cement and mortar and restoring old and damaged masonry works.
• Minor repair works on floors and walls, Preparation of Sub base and road base in non bituminous materials, Cold lay of bituminous materials and Hot lay of bituminous materials.
• Sees those they interact with as customers and seeks to identify/meet needs, taking swift action to resolve issues with integrity.
• Always alert to the customer’s point of view and demonstrates a sense of urgency.
• Facilitates the implementation and acceptance of change and transformation within the workplace by guiding others and helping them adapt.
• Takes responsibility for one’s own personal impact and development, focusing on increasing self awareness as well as identifying new areas for learning and professional development and creating learning opportunities.

Requirements for Assistant Technician Airfield Civil Work Mason

• High School Certificate and be trained in an appropriate field related to the specific work area.
• Industrial Training Institute Certificate / Diploma in road and street work operative maintenance or equivalent (post high school).
• IOSH Working Safely Certificate or equivalent.
• Current valid UAE driving license is desirable.
• Minimum 3 year experience within a civil works (road and street works) or similar environment.
• Airport experience is considered as added advantage for this position.
