Superintendent Marine (Marine Services) at ADNOC manages and closely monitor day to day ship’s marine activities/aspects for smooth activities at sea and port without delays and accident. Duties Of Marine Superintendent
- Prepares and recommends fleet marine budget & monitor financial performance versus the budget to ensure alignment, while minimizing any unnecessary expenditures in conjunction with technical.
- Reviews all marine related risk assessment.
- A member of the shore Emergency Response Team for the vessels emergencies.
- Guides Masters and staff on all marine related matters.
- Maintains, reviews, improves and develops as necessary the company marine procedures.
- Conducts annual on-board navigation audits and marine related training to ships staff on-board to improve standards, preferably during a short voyage.
- Input navigation audit results into the navigation audits database and follows up on all deficiencies and defects to closure.
- In charge of a monthly review of all vessel’s marine-related logs, reports, records etc.
- Assists in reviewing all safety-related reports from the vessels and other similar reports from other sources.
- Assists as and when required on miscellaneous projects and initiatives.
Eligibility Requirements
The eligibility requirements for the role of Marine Superintendent are as under:
- Education: Masters Certificate of Competency (or Equivalent).
- ISM Lead Auditors course.
- Certification: ISPS Company Security Officer Certificate.
- Experience: At least 4 years of general experience overall in managing preferably within marine (Shipping / offshore), health, safety and environment field.
- Marine Supt (Shipping) – Sailed as Chief Officer (Shipping) as a minimum.
- Marine Supt (OMS) – 4 years of experience Sailed as a Master on board various offshore vessels such as AHTS / PSV/ DPII / mooring subsea and SSRV’s vessels within ADNOC fields (Offshore)
- Physical fitness for technical inspection of different areas of the ships.
