National Oilwell Varco (NOV) presently has a job opening for eligible candidate for position of a Manual Lathe Machine Operator (Lathe and Milling) in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This job has recently been posted by NOV and is now open for all desirous applicants. 

Job Purpose of A Manual Lathe Machine Operator

Controls machine time and materials & performs turning work on BHA component and accessories such as (Subs, Lift sub, & Pup joint), milling work on Subs OD and operate machine as per work instruction and drawings.

Job Duties of A Manual Lathe Machine Operator

• Operating, monitoring & setting up Manual Lathe Machine for turning, boring & facing.
• Working in the Manual Milling machines in accordance to given trainings & standards.
• Carry out inspection and verify that each thread and part are generated as per the provide specification.
• To ensure that regular and preventive maintenance procedure is carried out each shift.
• Record all dimensional parameters in the process sheet.
• Create and maintain daily activity logs.
• Identify and report drawing errors and suggest for improvements.
• Make a positive contribution to maintaining a workplace that is healthy, safe, neat and tidy.
• To follow all safety rules, policies provided by NOV.
• To know company safety & environmental rules and regulations.
• To attend all the HSEMS and QMS trainings planned by QA, Safety and HR.
• Know and understand the safe working procedures for their work.
• Recognize environmental, health and safety hazards.
• Authorized to report any act /incident related to misbehavior at workplace.
• Accountable for complying with company safety and environmental rules and regulations.
• Accountable for daily production target.
• Accountable for reporting quality risks and and stop the production if required.
• Accountable for maintaining the company property.

Who Can Apply?

Qualification

• Higher Secondary School Certificate /Technical certification.

Experience

• Minimum 1-2 year of experience in operating a Manual Lathe Machine.
• Experience in Manual Milling Machine.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

• Able to interpret engineering drawings & specifications.
• Able to use a wide variety of measuring equipment.
• Minimum knowledge of English (Verbal & written).
