Duties of Senior Manager Engineering

The duties of Senior Manager Engineering are listed as under:

Technical Management

• Lead, mentor, coach and inspire technology expertise and depth, in order to foster a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.
• Effectively communicate practices and standards across federated delivery squads including indirect reports to ensure compliance to internal policies and procedures.
• Act as the escalation point for technical expertise and decisions to ensure correct data is provided.
• Effect change and continuous improvement based on Platform agile health assessments, capability reviews and performance metrics to ensure best practice solutions.

Product Delivery

• Support Chapter Leads in enhancing tooling, capabilities and ways of working within agreed sphere of practice to ensure initiative solutions are provided.
• Provide detailed planning and technical thought leadership around value stream deliverables in line with best practice solutions.
• Oversee and drive complex technology programmes in conjunction with multiple business units, experts, vendors and Platforms to ensure achievement within agreed turnaround times (TATs) and budgets.

Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with prospective users and stakeholders in order to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into product requirements
• Identify and assist the stakeholder to understand the business model, value and value proposition in order to fully understand deliverable being implemented.
• Act as the main point of contact between teams and stakeholders to ensure accurate information flow.

People Management

• Manage self and team in line with ADCB’s people management policies, procedures, processes and practices to ensure adherence and to maximise own and employee contribution to business performance.
• Organise and supervise the activities and work of the team to ensure that targets and objectives are achieved and the business plan is delivered in line with the required policies, processes, procedures and systems.

• Implement approved departmental policies, processes and procedures, and ensure employee adherence to carry out work up to the required standard while delivering the required standards of service to customers and stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement

• Manage and motivate the team to ensure they contribute to and participate in the identification and implementation of change initiatives, programmes and projects in line with the Bank’s standards

Customer Service

• Demonstrate bank’s Promise and apply the ADCB Service Standards to deliver the Bank’s required levels of service in all internal and external customer interactions

Qualification Requirements for Role of Senior Manager Engineering

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in Technology unctions or Digital organisations.
