Job Description

Emirates Airlines is hiring skilled and motivated candidate for the job role of Manager Cargo & Aircraft Protection in Dubai. The successful candidate will be the key point of contact for all operational and strategic responsibilities associated with the Cargo and Aircraft Protection Unit (CAPU). The role holder will manage an effective team to ensure the highest level of security services is applied for Cargo, Aircraft and Airport Terminal Operations, in adherence with individual airline regulations and with state and international legislation, to facilitate the effective operation of the CAPU Unit.

Duties of Manager Cargo & Aircraft Protection

  • Manage and monitor the implementation of SOPs shared by Regulatory Affairs for the operations. Assess the SOPs and its application on the operations and make recommendations and reports related to their functionality. Ensure the team is adhering to the SOPs and find solutions for situations where the application of the SOPs would be challenging.
  • Coordinate with third-party airlines for implementation of services to OALs, such as Air Canada, El Al etc. and implementation of their SOPs.
  • Work closely with AVSEC & QA to implement Audit programs, risk assessments and development of mitigation strategies throughout all operations.
  • Use data and identify trends which highlight service shortfalls and promote continuous improvement processes within the unit.
  • Develop, motivate and lead the CAPU team in order to achieve the goals set from the SOPs. Ensure all regulatory and non-regulatory mandatory trainings have been met by the team. Create an environment of trust, respect, and recognition within the team.
  • Liaise with the Business Development Manager to work on the financial budgets for CAPU.
  • Effectively utilize the outsource service and manage the contingent workforce by ensuring that is appropriately position and supervise.
  • Maintaining CAPU supplies for the operation such as screening machines, ETDs and consumables. Ensure all machine is effectively position, utilize, and are meeting the require standard.

Requirements for Role of Manager Cargo & Aircraft Protection

The requirements for the job role of Manager Cargo & Aircraft Protection are as under:

  • Degree in relevant field.
  • Qualified as ICAO AVSEC Professional Manager and be competent in the Quality control Programme of ICAO.
  • 10+ years experience in Airline, Airport, or Cargo Security.
  • Experience in aviation security with (AVSEC) industry exposure with Managerial experience.

Skills And Knowledge Desired

  • Should be level headed, maintain a flexible approach and have rational thinking as recommendations provided in case of threat to aircraft.
  • In depth knowledge of aviation security standards and recommended practices e.g. Annex 17, Doc.  8973, Doc. 9811, Annex 9, Annex 6 of ICAO, NCASP of GCAA and of other countries.
  • Knowledge of IATAs Security Regulations, bomb detection and its disposal training, extra-ordinary security procedures and measures in case of hijacks, accidents and bomb threats.
