Global Aerospace Logistics (GAL) is currently seeking a suitably qualified and experienced candidate for job position of a Manager Aviation Maintenance. This vacancy was recently posted by the company’s career page and is openly accepting applications from all eligible aspirants.
Purpose of Manager Aviation Maintenance
- Reports directly to & carries out directives from Operations Manager on all related maintenance programs and operations.
- Manages all maintenance planning, administrative and resource management activities.
- Responsible for the overall day to day functions of the maintenance department functions.
Duties of Manager Aviation Maintenance
- Manages aircraft maintenance personnel by establishing a schedule and controlling work hours and overtime. Must ensure that all aircraft inspection procedures, maintenance practices, standards, and records comply with all OEM, Regulatory Authorities (FAA,EASA Etc), TAMMS-A, and the company regulations.
- Responsible for oversight, guidance, and counseling of all section managers must ensure that all Team Leads are conducting productive and positive oversight of their sections.
- Ensures all primary and recurrent training programs of all maintenance personnel is maintain. Assure that personnel are trained on new model aircraft before being assigned to duties on those aircraft.
- Ensuring that all aircraft are being maintained to airworthiness standards prescribed by applicable regulations, technical manuals, airworthiness directives, and good maintenance practices.
- Responsible for the direction of all activities to include comprehensive phase inspections, modifications, repair of aircraft structure, engines and accessories in absence of Manager.
- Assist Production Control in the scheduling of aircraft maintenance considering such factors as work flow, location of equipment facilities, tools, supplies & job requirements.
- Maintain a close liaison with Production Control and Maintenance Team Leads to provide current status of aircraft & forecast down times.
- Determine maintenance personnel requirements based on present & projected workloads.
- May delegate authority and functions to other personnel but must retain responsibility for all assigned personnel.
- Must ensure that all personnel have the tools, equipment and training in order to support the mission requirements. Must ensure a healthy work environment and must be able to lead by example.
- Assist Program Manager and Operations Manager with other duties assigned.
Qualification & Experienced
- High school diploma.
- FAA Airframe and powerplant certificate or industry equivalent.
- Graduation from military or commercial aircraft maintenance school or course required.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in aviation maintenance.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in supervisory role.
Skills & Knowledge Desired
- Must have strong knowledge of FAA, EASA, etc and/or equivalent Army maintenance practices including The Army Maintenance Management System for Aviation (TAMMS- A), Aeronautical Equipment Maintenance Management Procedures and ATP Aviation Maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of production and quality control preferred.
- Good knowledge of aviation logistics and asset management preferred.
- Must have thorough knowledge in the use of common tools, special tools, test equipment and aviation ground support equipment used in performing maintenance on the relevant aircraft.
- Valid UAE driving license.
