Job Purpose of A Maintenance Planning Assistant

Responsible to receive, record and follow up on customer requests by tracking the progress of ‘jobs’ being undertaken by the different sections in the workshop, in order to provide services to customers as well as maintaining comprehensive management information on all jobs being carried by the workshop.

Job Duties of A Maintenance Planning Assistant

• Attend all breakdown calls from customer departments/airlines and record the same with all details in the fault log & convey the information to the workshop for necessary action.
• Assign a work order number in order of deposit, so later you can trace equipment and to address any specific enquiry from the customer.
• Update the MMS system to provide ground equipment details and record complaints in order to assist Workshop Superintendent and Maintenance Planner to plan material and manpower requirements in order to provide efficient service through maximum utilisation of resources that would reduce the down time of critical operational ground support equipment.
• On completion of work, record corrective action taken and initiate paperwork for applicable recharge.
• Convey the information to the customers in order to ensure correct revenue collection through coordination with airport/revenue accounts.
• Monitor the maintenance works at different sections in workshop in order to update the history cards & assist preparing maintenance schedule.
• Keep manuals so that technicians & Maintenance Planners can refer to them for maintenance procedures, spare parts requisition & cannibalisation.
• Circulate monthly maintenance schedules to various departments to ensure availability of equipment for maintenance work.

Qualification & Experience

• 10 years schooling or equivalent.
• 3 plus years experience in engineering/ workshops.
• Experience in maintenance planning including work order raising, equipment history recording & maintenance scheduling etc.

Knowledge and Skills Desired

• Knowledge of materials/automobile spares.
• Knowledge of maintenance procedures.
• Ability to use the computer (MS Excel / Word, planning software ).
• Ability to write reports.
