An exciting opportunity for the role of Maine Junior Accountant has been announced at Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities Department Dubai. This vacancy was announced by the company on 1 February 2024. Candidates with sufficient experience in finance or accounting field are required for this role.
Responsibilities
- Participate in preparing the department’s operational projects, supervising their implementation, and ensuring their compatibility with the strategic plans of the Accounts and Budget Department.
- Participate in reviewing and updating the policies, methodologies, laws and regulations related to the department.
- Preparing manuals for work procedures and following up on their implementation and updating them.
- Ensuring the optimal application of all approved financial and accounting standards (IPSAS), represented in daily entries, general ledger accounts, the statement of financial position, and trial balances.
- Work on review and audit procedures for financial movements and their conformity with the actual reality prior to posting to the public accounts.
- Implementing procedures for recording and calculating monthly depreciation rates and the expected life of fixed assets.
- Preparing periodic reports on movement of fixed assets, linking them to cost centers and employees assigned to them, and including them in the general accounts.
- Participate in preparing, following up and approving annual budget in coordination with all organizational units in department.
- Work on financial assessments of budget requests in accordance with the annual budget prepared in advance for the department.
- Work on transferring budget items to the public accounts system.
- Work on the processes of requesting cash from the Finance Department.
- Working on the financial transactions system between the department and other government departments.
- Implementing financial control procedures on receipt and disbursement bonds.
- Ensuring the follow up of specific cost policies in accordance with the financial control standards of the Dubai Government.
- Participate in follow-up procedures for sudden and annual warehouse inventories to accurately determine current quantities and costs.
- Participate in implementing audit procedures on accounts related to payments and receipts, & financial receipts related to cash & advances and controlling them.
- Participate in implementing the monthly financial settlement procedures for bank accounts and ensuring their accuracy.
What You’ll Do More?
- In implementing the monthly and annual financial closing procedures for public accounts and preparing the financial statements according to the dates specified by the Department of Finance in the Government of Dubai.
- Preparing monthly/annual reports supported by the necessary statistics.
- Support and maintain relevant approved standards systems, including risk management and business continuity.
- Submitting proposals to rationalize expenditures and develop revenues in the department.
- Providing the necessary support to transfer knowledge.
- Contribute to the development of human resources in the department.
- Compliance with the department’s policies, processes, and information security programs.
- Express commitment to attending security awareness workshops.
- Report security incidents if encountered.
Requirements of Maine Junior Accountant
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or equivalent in a similar specialty + 6 years of experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent in a similar specialty + 8 years of experience.
