Job Description
Mubarak Bin Mohammed Cycle 2 Charter School is looking to hire suitably skilled and devoted candidate for role of Lifeguard. The successful candidates will be closely aligned with their core values and ethos and possess a genuine understanding and appreciation of the values of the region.
Responsibilities of Lifeguard
- Maintain full supervision of the swimming pool and its users from the designated positions in the Pool Safety Operating Procedure.
- Ensure pool checks are completed and recorded before and after lessons where applicable and liaise with maintenance teams when corrective action needs to be made.
- Manage and ensure the safety of swimmers, parents, pupils, teachers, staff and any other people on site.
- Support teachers and coaches with administrative tasks and offering excellent support at all times.
- Read, understand, and work within the Normal Operating Procedure and Emergency Action Plan (Pool Safety Operating Procedure) that is supplied by the school.
- Work within the Health & Safety, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH), and Risk Assessment guidelines supplied by the school.
- Carry out safety/operational equipment and resource checks where requested and report findings in appropriate documentation. All documentation supplied by school.
- Maneuver, set up, and dismantle equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with an induction that performed either by the school.
- Help maintain a safe and secure environment through observation and provision of guidance and emergency assistance when required.
- Report any concerns about any areas of operation to the relevant line manager.
- Attend mandatory monthly training sessions to maintain knowledge, fitness, and skills required to carry out all duties.
- Carry out pool tests as per the Pool Safety Operating Procedure, in accordance with their training and induction.
- Represent Charter Schools in a professional and positive manner at all times, adhering to the company values.
- Support the PE department with day to day tasks and whole school events when not required at poolside.
Job Requirements of Lifeguard
- Minimum Qualifications: Trained and qualified DAC or equivalent lifeguard (EIAC ADQCC).
- Minimum Experience: Minimum 1 year Lifeguard experience.
Skills & Knowledge Desired
- Flexible in approach to work.
- Must be a proficient swimmer.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Physically fit & able to work outdoors.
- Must be able to respond appropriately & professionally to everyone you interact with in all manners, including face to face and over the phone.
- Able to work as part of a team, sharing ideas, giving and receiving feedback.
