About the Role

The Lecturer in Performance Analysis will deliver engaging and innovative teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the Sport and Exercise Science subject area. Furthermore, you will support students to become work-ready graduates who are sought out for their applied experience in performance analysis. Moreover, the role involves contributing to the School’s research and enterprise activities while benefiting from a supportive environment that encourages professional development and industry collaboration.

Key Responsibilities for Lecturer in Performance Analysis at University of Derby Derby

• Effectively teach and facilitate learning on a range of modules within performance analysis
• Ensure knowledge from research and scholarly activities informs and enhances teaching
• Participate in assessment processes including setting, marking, and moderation of student work
• Lead module and programme development incorporating innovative delivery methods
• Engage in individual and collaborative research projects contributing to the REF
• Publish in appropriate quality journals and present at scholarly conferences
• Develop and maintain contacts with professional and industrial organisations
• Act as a personal tutor, supporting and mentoring students
• Support marketing and student recruitment activities as required
• Contribute to writing bids for externally funded research projects

Requirements

• Good Honours Degree in a relevant subject discipline or equivalent
• PhD or submitted and awaiting examination in a relevant subject area
• Fellowship of the Advanced HE (HEA) or willingness to work towards
• Experience with performance analysis software such as Hudl
• Demonstrable experience of research and enterprise activity with evidence of publishing
• Ability to use a range of delivery techniques to inspire and engage students
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with networking abilities
