Responsibilities of A Lead Electrical Engineer

• Assume sole responsibility for assigned electrical engineering work scopes.
• Carry out electrical discipline work within a project team, supporting the project team for field development of oil and gas production facilities.
• Plan, budget, organize and control a segment of the electrical engineering deliverables for the project.
• Prepare electrical deliverables for all project phases the oil and gas industry.
• Complete all work without compromise to quality and deliver it according to the project schedule.
• Provide direction and guidance on all electrical engineering technical queries raised by either internal or external parties.
• Liaise with the Client’s Engineering, Operations and Maintenance staff as required to ensure a consistent approach to project completion
• Promote safe behavior at all times.
• Provide sound technical advice and solutions to a diversity of technical problems within the discipline.
• Co-ordinate with other disciplines during all stages of design development, construction, pre-commissioning, and start-up.
• Assist in the coordination of all activities related to electrical engineering design.
• Identify any areas of concern with respect to progress and/or quality and recommend corrective actions as required.

Requirements for Role of Lead Electrical Engineer

The eligibility requirements for role of Lead Electrical Engineer are as under:

• Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Membership of a recognized professional institute preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Minimum of 6 years proven capability in an engineering design company.
• Experience working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferable.
• Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage.
• Experience of participation in HAZOP, HAZID and SIL Rating studies.

Knowledge & Skills Desired

• Thorough knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of Electrical design and analysis.
• Familiar with the typical software packages that are used for Electrical engineering design.
• Thorough awareness of relevant international codes and standards.
• Strong problem solving skills.
