An opening has come up for a Laundry Technician at Beach Rotana in Abu Dhabi, UAE. It is a full -time role on the site that is beneficial to someone who is mechanically interested by hand and is familiar with maintaining large -scale laundry. The daily work involves dealing with repair, detecting problems before developing, and ensuring that the equipment continues to run smoothly. Laundry Technician

Responsibilities

  • Carry out small repairs on laundry machines and plumbing lines
  • Help fix problems with lights, small appliances, or control systems
  • Check and clean basic electrical and water connections in the laundry area
  • Do touch-up painting when needed and help maintain laundry-related structures
  • Keep track of clothing or uniforms needing replacement
  • Make sure cleaned clothes are sorted and delivered properly
  • Avoid unauthorized handling of clothing and follow all laundry protocols
  • Walk through laundry areas regularly to keep things in order and secure
  • Respond to minor issues quickly to avoid downtime
  • Keep tools organized and in good condition
  • Report serious maintenance issues to supervisors as soon as possible
  • Clean up work areas after finishing tasks
  • Follow hotel guidelines for health and safety during all maintenance jobs
  • Help team members when extra hands are needed
  • Keep logs of equipment performance and maintenance tasks

Requirements and Qualifications

Education

Technical diploma or certificate in mechanical, electrical, or building maintenance

Experience

  • 2 to 3 years in a similar maintenance or hotel-based role preferred
  • Prior hands-on work with laundry systems is an advantage

Skills

  • Good with tools and repairs
  • Knows how to use electrical and plumbing equipment safely
  • Able to lift, carry, and move materials as part of daily work
  • Comfortable handling physical tasks in warm environments
  • Speaks basic English clearly
  • Follows directions and safety rules closely

Knowledge

  • Laundry workflows in hotels or commercial buildings
  • Safety checks for washing and drying systems
  • How to spot and fix minor leaks, blockages, or electrical faults
  • Use of repair manuals and past maintenance records
  • Laundry area organization and process rules
  • Guest property handling guidelines in hospitality
