Responsibilities of Laundry Attendant

• Receive, sort, and inspect incoming laundry items for stains, damages, and special instructions
• Operate commercial laundry equipment such as washers, dryers, and folding machines according to established procedures and safety guidelines
• Load and unload laundry machines, ensuring proper loading capacities and detergent usage
• Use appropriate cleaning agents and stain removal techniques to treat stained or soiled fabrics
• Monitor laundry cycles and adjust settings as needed to ensure thorough cleaning and proper drying
• Fold, stack, and organize clean laundry items neatly for storage or delivery to guest rooms
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the laundry area, including sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces
• Perform routine maintenance tasks on laundry equipment, such as cleaning lint traps and checking for leaks or malfunctions
• Keep inventory of laundry supplies and report any shortages or replenishment needs to the Laundry Supervisor or Manager
• Follow safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required

Requirements of Laundry Attendant

The requirements for the job of Laundry Attendant are as following.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience of 1-2 years as a Laundry Attendant, Housekeeper, or in a related role preferred but not required

Skills and Knowledge Desired

• Familiarity with commercial laundry equipment and laundry procedures is an asset
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality laundry services
• Physical stamina and ability to stand, bend, lift, and carry laundry items and supplies
