Job Description
Hotels/Restaurant industry is currently seeking enthusiastic and skilled individual to join their team as Kitchen Staff. If you have a passion for culinary arts, teamwork, and delivering high quality cuisine, they invite you to apply for this position.
Responsibilities of Kitchen Staff
- Assist in food preparation, including chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, and marinating meats, under the guidance of the head chef or kitchen supervisor.
- Follow recipes, portion control guidelines, and food safety protocols to ensure consistency and quality in food production.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, grills, ovens, and fryers.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen area, including workstations, equipment, and utensils.
- Monitor food supplies and ingredients, replenishing stocks as needed and rotating items to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, organizing inventory, and maintaining accurate records of stock levels.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff members to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Support the head chef and culinary team in executing special menus, catering events, and banquet functions as required.
- Adhere to kitchen policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, including proper handling and storage of food products.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and demonstrate flexibility in performing various tasks as needed to support kitchen operations.
Requirements of Kitchen Staff
- Food handler’s certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks as required.
- Previous experience of 1-2 years working in a kitchen environment preferred but not required.
Skills and Knowledge Desired
- Basic knowledge of culinary techniques, food handling procedures, and kitchen safety practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced, high pressure environment while maintaining composure and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow instructions from supervisors and senior kitchen staff.
- Positive attitude, professionalism, and a strong work ethic with a commitment to excellence in food quality and presentation.
