Job Description
Hotels/Restaurant industry is currently seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to join their team as Kitchen Staff. This role is integral to ensuring the smooth operation of their kitchen and delivering high quality cuisine to their patrons.
Responsibilities of Kitchen Staff
- Assist with food preparation tasks, including chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, and assembling ingredients according to recipes and instructions.
- Operate kitchen equipment and appliances, such as ovens, grills, fryers, and slicers, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
- Follow food safety protocols and guidelines to prevent contamination and ensure the safety and quality of food products.
- Support the kitchen team during busy periods, including meal services and special events, by expediting orders, garnishing dishes, and coordinating with other kitchen staff.
- Assist with inventory management and stock control, including receiving deliveries, rotating stock, and monitoring inventory levels of ingredients and supplies.
- Collaborate with chefs, cooks, and other kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate preparation and presentation of menu items.
- Adhere to recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards to maintain consistency and quality in food products.
- Assist with cleaning and maintenance tasks in the kitchen area, including equipment cleaning, deep cleaning projects, and routine maintenance tasks.
- Follow all safety and sanitation procedures and guidelines, including proper handling and storage of food products and adherence to health and safety regulations.
Requirements of Kitchen Staff
- Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks in a hot and busy kitchen environment.
- Previous experience of 1-2 years working in a kitchen environment preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates.
Skills and Knowledge Desired
- Basic understanding of kitchen operations, food preparation techniques, and culinary terminology.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and perform repetitive tasks while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other team members.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to support restaurant operations and meet customer demand.
- Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities, with a positive attitude and a passion for food and hospitality.
