KG Teacher
Responsibilities
- Set up a classroom where children feel valued, secure, and excited to learn
- Use storytelling, music, and hands-on play to guide early learning in fun, meaningful ways
- Adjust daily lessons to match the pace and personality of each child
- Keep track of student development and spot areas that need extra care or attention
- Speak regularly with parents to share updates and encourage involvement at home
- Encourage curiosity by giving children the freedom to ask questions and explore
- Bring in simple technology when useful, always keeping it age-appropriate
- Team up with other teachers to plan cross-classroom activities and school events
- Take part in regular training sessions and workshops to stay up to date
- Support students in building their confidence, especially during group play or class presentations
- Create calm routines that help children feel settled and focused throughout the day
- Change teaching styles when needed to better support children facing challenges
- Model respectful behavior and help students build strong friendships and teamwork skills
- Keep learning time fun with colorful visuals, music, props, and sensory tools
- Always follow school rules on health, safety, and student wellbeing
Requirements and Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s in Arts or Science
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) in the same subject
- PGCE or Montessori Diploma may be accepted with relevant teaching experience
- Degrees must not be earned through correspondence or open universities
Experience
At least 2 years of classroom experience at the KG or early primary level
Skills
- Strong communication skills
- Creative lesson planning
- Patience and empathy with young learners
- Good classroom organization
- Familiarity with early childhood teaching tools
- Ability to work well with parents and colleagues
Knowledge
- Early years developmental milestones
- Curriculum design for young children
