The finance sector is currently seeking a detail oriented and motivated individual to join their finance team as a Junior Accountant. The Junior Accountant will be responsible for assisting with various accounting tasks, including accounts payable/receivable, financial reporting, and general ledger reconciliations.
Responsibilities of a Junior Accountant
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of financial records, including invoices, bills, and receipts.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Support month end and year end close processes.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.
Requirements of a Junior Accountant
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Previous experience of less than 1 year in an accounting role or internship is preferred.
Skills and Knowledge Desired
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
