Responsibilities of Junior Accountant
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets under the guidance of senior accounting staff.
- Record financial transactions accurately and timely in the company’s accounting software, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Perform bank reconciliations, verifying the accuracy of cash balances and transactions.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, billing, and collections.
- Assist with the preparation of tax returns and compliance filings, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and deadlines.
- Assist in conducting internal audits and reviews to identify discrepancies, errors, or areas for improvement in financial processes and controls.
- Assist with payroll processing, including calculation of employee salaries, deductions, and benefits.
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records, files, and documentation for audit and review purposes.
- Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as assigned by management.
Requirements of Junior Accountant
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Previous internship or work experience of 1-2 years in accounting or finance preferred but not required.
Skills and Knowledge Desired
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
