Job Description

Responsibilities of IT Support Specialist
- Provide technical support to end users regarding hardware, software, network, and other IT related issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems, including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and software updates on end user devices.
- Respond to help desk requests and tickets in a timely and professional manner, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently.
- Collaborate with IT team members to identify and implement solutions for complex technical issues and system enhancements.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as system backups, antivirus updates, and security patches, to ensure data integrity and system security.
- Assist in the setup and configuration of new hardware and software, including user accounts, email accounts, and network access.
- Document and maintain accurate records of IT assets, inventory, and support activities using ticketing systems and asset management tools.
- Conduct training sessions and provide guidance to end users on IT best practices, security protocols, and use of technology resources.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in IT support to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
Requirements of IT Support Specialist
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) are a plus.
- Proven experience of 1-2 years as an IT Support Specialist or similar role, with a strong technical background in desktop support, troubleshooting, and system administration.
Skills and Knowledge Desired
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office applications, Active Directory, and network protocols.
- Familiarity with hardware components, peripherals, and mobile devices, as well as remote desktop support tools and techniques.
- Excellent problem solving skills and ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently or with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with users of varying technical levels.
- Detail oriented and well organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Availability to work occasional evenings, weekends, or on call shifts as needed to support business operations.
