IT Security Administrator at American University of Ras Al Khaimah is responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of the AURAK’s information systems. This role involves implementing security measures, monitoring system activity, conducting regular security assessments, and responding to security incidents.
Responsibilities of IT Security Administrator
- The IT Security Administrator should work closely with other ICT Officer and the SOC team to identify and address potential vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.
Job Requirements of IT Security Administrator
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) or CompTIA Security+.
- Advanced certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) are highly desirable.
- Minimum of three (3) years of verifiable experience in roles directly related to IT security.

- Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security architectures.
- Proficiency in security tools and technologies.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to assess complex security issues and develop effective solutions.

- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and regulations (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA).
- Attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
