Pakistan Islamia Higher Secondary School was established in 1974. The school follows the Pakistani curriculum, in accordance with the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE). With over 2200 students, PIHSS is proud of catering to the needs of the Pakistani community by providing them with a culturally rich and secure environment. The spacious premises of the school comprise of separate facilities for each gender from class 4 onwards. It provides academic excellence for the students, boosting their self-esteem and confidence.  The curriculum prepares the students for the rapidly changing needs and demands of the society and nurturing them with the desire to grow socially, emotionally, intellectually and physically. The aim of the school is to foster the importance of education in children and to prepare them for a bright future. Currently, PIHSS is seeking an Islamic Studies Teacher in Sharjah, UAE.

Role of Islamic Studies Teacher

To deliver the assigned curriculum, to co-operate in planning, and to fulfill all administrative tasks associated with the role. Carrying out other associated duties as are reasonably assigned by the Head of Islamic Studies.

Responsibilities of Islamic Studies Teacher

• Be responsible for the excellent progress and achievement of pupils.
• Be responsible for his/her teaching duties and responsibilities and for teaching tasks.
• Responsible for the supervision of the work of classroom assistants relevant to his/her responsibilities.
• Interacting on a professional level with colleagues and seeking to establish and maintain productive relationships with them.
• Promoting mutual understanding of the school curriculum with the aim of improving the quality of teaching and learning in the school.
• Be a positive role model in terms of behavior, work and attitude.
• Cultivating and promoting love for Islam and Islamic values within pupils.

What you’ll be doing

• Teaching, according to students’ educational needs and the school’s curriculum.
• Setting clear targets and goals for teaching the Islamic values .
• Working with staff to extend the implementation within the classroom environment.
• Organising extra-curricular activities related to the Islamic events and holidays.
• Teaching challenging, well organized lessons, using an appropriate range of teaching strategies which meet individual learners’ needs.
• Using an appropriate range of observation, assessment, monitoring and recording strategies as a basis for setting challenging learning objectives. Monitoring learners’ progress and levels of attainment
• Providing timely, accurate and constructive feedback on learners’ attainment, progress and areas for development.
• Advising and working collaboratively with the Head of Islamic Studies and others on the preparation and development of teaching materials, teaching programmes, methods of teaching and assessment and pastoral arrangements as appropriate.
• Provide robust subject leadership for the teaching of Islamic Studies at the school, in association with and supporting colleagues in the delivery of this area.

Qualification & Experience

• University Degree or Higher Diploma in Islamic Studies, Sharia’, or similar.
• Relevant teaching experience.
