Responsibilities of An Investment Director
- Handling deal sourcing, by leveraging own startup ecosystem connections to generate and screen deal flow globally.
- Identify potential investment opportunities, investment analysis and deal closure, including preparation and presentation to the investment committee.
- Complete market research by conducting deep dives into new markets, trends, and technologies.
- Informing the fund’s evolving investment strategy whilst performing due diligence checks and supporting portfolio managers.
- Assist with portfolio company reporting, quarterly reporting, and annual audits for the venture fund whilst lead reporting to the limited partner, providing updates on fund progress and identifying synergies with LP strategy.
Eligibility Requirements
The eligibility requirements for role of an Investment Director are as under:
- Bachelor’s Degree from a reputable University.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in prior venture capital, banking, consulting, private equity or startup.
- Strong understanding of venture capital and finance concepts, including term sheets, financial statements, valuation analysis, returns modelling and ability to form views on companies and investments in ambiguous environments, with clear articulation.
- Advanced Excel skills, computing programming experience, MBA, and/or prior experience at a venture fund are a plus.
