AstraZeneca is currently seeking an International Oncology Lung / GI Brand Director & Franchise Lead to join them in Dubai, UAE. In this role you are responsible for International strategy development, skill development, performance management and resource allocation across the Lung Cancer portfolio.
Responsibilities of International Oncology Brand Director
- Accountable for Lung International Cross-Functional Tumour Leadership Plan (TLP), go to market commercialization and growth strategies for Franchise across tumour types and indications.
- Lead International franchise team & markets interface. Develop and provide strategic guidance to regions and functions.
- Line manager to i-on brand directors/managers for franchise.
- Partner with Global to ensure International strategic needs are captured in global strategy.
- Drive the execution of International oncology brand strategy, aligned with global strategy plan and tailored to International markets key objectives.
- Hold overall accountability for the successful development of cross-functional brand strategies and plans to ensure an optimal balance of revenue, volume, margin and access across the portfolio and geographies.
- In partnership with cross-functional team members ensuring clear and compelling pricing and market access strategy, diagnostics strategy and medical plan.
- Engage areas and key markets to build new capabilities, drive pre-launch & launch readiness and commercial excellence, to deliver key local initiatives with alignment to both International and global strategic imperatives.
- Build and own the launch preparation, resourcing model and guidance for MCs, for all new indications.
- Rapid dissemination of best practices sharing, especially around launch success and execution against strategic drivers.
- Partner & collaborate with AZ Oncology Business Unit (OBU), and alliance partners where relevant, on brand objectives/priorities and strategies.
- Monitor and analyse brands performance, sales and disease indicators across areas and top markets.
- Provide input and support the region, areas and markets in all key business planning activities (RBUs, QBRs, MTPs and AFs).
- Identify future business partnership or BD opportunities with full business cases development. Lead & interface between external and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure effective agency engagement which is compliant with all processes; budget management (spend, monitoring and reporting).
Eligiblity Criteria
Following are the requirements for the role of International Oncology Lung /GI Brand Director & Franchise Lead at AstraZeneca:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- General Management or P&L responsibilities in sizeable business (i.e. Franchise Head in Large Markets; BUD in Smaller Markets).
- Previous experience & knowledge of Oncology therapeutic area.
- Experience in partnership with cross functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Medical etc.)
- Proven experience of understanding multiple customers and developing strategies to meet their needs.
- Experience of developing and executing portfolio/brand strategy.
- Commercial experience in emerging markets (ideally in-market and above the market) including understanding of various healthcare systems and Regulatory & Medical aspects of pharmaceutical industry.
- Extensive experience of product launches.
- Experience with pricing and market access in several types of emerging markets.
Knowledge & Skills
- Able to challenge, influence, contract and drive change with senior stakeholders across different markets or functions.
- Extensive oncology high-level network: ability to represent AZ with national institutions and to build partnerships with scientific societies.
- Strong ability for leading, coaching and developing large teams.
