Internal Audit Senior Specialist Department of Finance Dubai

Internal Audit Senior Specialist will be responsible for effective contribution to the application of approved standards and procedures for governance and oversight of financial and administrative operations in the department, and assuming responsibility for implementing “financial and operational” internal audit work in accordance with work plans and programs, approved laws and regulations, and general strategic directions in the department.

Responsibilities of Internal Audit Senior Specialist

• Analyzing and preparing the draft annual plan for the internal audit office within Topics related to the operations and work procedures followed in the Finance Department.
• Identifying and analyzing the necessary corrective and preventive measures in this regard, and following up and ensuring their implementation in coordination with various relevant authorities.
• Auditing and following up on compliance with laws, policies, procedures and regulations for operational and financial processes and corporate governance systems approved by the department and submitting analytical and developmental reports on them to the direct manager.
• Study, implement and follow up on internal audit work and periodic and surprise examinations in accordance with the approved internal audit plan and the work tasks distribution plan for work procedures in this regard and analyze the results and prepare reports thereon.
• Developing models, procedures, and programs for internal auditing of operations in the department and updating them periodically or whenever the business need arises, in accordance with best practices and in accordance with approved legislation.
• Collect, analyze and summarize information and operational trends related to the department’s operations and activities.
• Submit appropriate recommendations and proposals to the direct manager regarding them
• Providing consultations to organizational units regarding the field of functional specialization & in accordance with the approved legislation.
• Preparing internal audit reports related to the field of functional competence.
• Submitting reports periodically or upon request to the direct manager

What you will do more?

• Monitoring and analyzing the initial observations resulting from the audit and review work on the approved systems, standards and policies.
• Referring observations to the relevant organizational units and discussing with them in this regard.
• Work to ensure the organizational units in the department take the preventive measures contained in the internal audit reports, review operations, and submit periodic reports in this regard to the direct manager.
• Study and analyze the responses received from the organizational units to the observations of the Dubai Government Financial Audit Authority.
• Review the responses from a technical standpoint.
• Prepare drafts of responses to the Financial Audit Authority within the specified time periods and approved directions in this regard.
• Preparing, updating and analyzing the institutional and operational risk register for information security risks of the Internal Audit Office.
• Study and analyze the efficiency and effectiveness of the use of financial and operational resources and audit.
• Ensuring the transfer of technical and specialized knowledge and experience to employees at the office/department level through various available means.
• Review of developments in the field of best practices related to the nature of the Finance Department’s activity.
• Recommending the application of appropriate ones in the field of work that contributes to raising efficiency of the office.

Requirements of Internal Audit Senior Specialist

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in accounting, finance, or any related disciplines.
• 12 years of experience in the field of auditing for those holding a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent.
• 6 years for a master’s degree / (3) for a doctorate in similar fields of work.
• Specialized professional certificates (CIA, CPA, ACCA, CA) or any other relevant certificates.
