An Integrated Logistics Support Project Manager at EDGE Group oversees the development of support strategies and plans to deliver the contracted ILS deliverables to agreed quality standards, on time and within budget for the allocated project portfolio. The job incumbent shall provide and maintain the capability to manage ILS projects.

Responsibilities of Integrated Logistics Support Project Manager

  • Act as the ILS Point of Contact for Customer and internal product and system development programs from the bid phase, through program delivery into the service phase for allocated project portfolio.
  • Support the creation of ILS strategies, proposals and budgets for company tenders / quotations.
  • Produce and maintain an Integrated Support Plan (ISP), schedule and other management plans used to implement ILS programs, actively monitoring and controlling project execution and costs.
  • Facilitate and lead the creation of project budgets, work breakdowns, rough order estimates, task prioritization, and integration plans with weapon system project managers.
  • Evaluate and propose procurement of systems and resources (tools) required to perform the ILS Project Management tasks.
  • Review and approve all product support analysis, technical publications and training documentation and material for assigned programs.
  • Support ILS Engineering with influencing product and system design for supportability through participation in the LSA process.
  • Monitor progress of projects, ensuring projects run smoothly, identifying support risks and mitigation plans.
  • Record project performance metrics and report project progress to ILS Manager.
  • Maintain consolidated budget for ILS projects and ensure projects are effectively staffed to be executed on time.
  • Oversee quantitative and qualitative analysis to determine feasibility, cost and benefits of existing, new and modified logistic support systems.
  • Collaborate with project managers and ILS team members to research and document emerging best practices, technologies and vendors for project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with all contractual requirements and company processes.
  • Collaborate with other ILS Project Management team members to achieve excellence through standardising ILS project management practices and developing new skills.
  • During ILS Capability Development phase, perform ILS Engineering functions to overcome shortage of required skills.

Eligibility Requirements

The eligibility requirements for in role of an Integrated Logistics Support Project Manager are as under:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical/electrical/ industrial), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 10 years’ of experience in Logistics Support Analysis with minimum 5 years in  military projects.
  • 6+ years’ experience as a program or support manager developing and delivering complex product support solutions on defense programs is an asset.
  • Experience in the development of ILS systems in accordance with MIL-STD-1388 or equivalent standards.

Skills Desired

  • Accredited training courses in Project Management and in ILS Management or Systems Engineering.
  • Understanding of product life cycle management and the role of ILS in these life cycles.
  • Understanding of military organization structures and operational missions.
