Emirates General Petroleum Corporation (Emarat) presently has a job opening for eligible candidate for position of Insurance Coordinator in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible to provide administrative support, and under the direction of the Insurance Manager coordinate with appropriate personnel both inside and outside the corporation regarding insurance issues in order to assist in the smooth running of the ‘Insurance’ section in compliance with EMARAT’s policies and procedures.

Duties of Insurance Coordinator

  • Advices claims to concerned insurance companies and follows up to process claims.
  • Collates required claims documents, prepares claim statements and submits to the insurance company(s).
  • Coordinates with staff internally to obtain relevant underwriting data.
  • Prepares current / up-to-date claims and premium reconciliation reports.
  • Carries out the initial checking of insurance premium bills for payment approval by insurance manager.
  • Control Insurance premium payable provisions and insurance claims receivables provisions.
  • Prepares documentation as required regarding insurance claims, surveys, underwriting, etc.
  • Follows-up on a daily basis regarding the status of various claims raised against concerned insurance companies and insurance surveyors.
  • Maintains orderly documentation for section and ensures documents are filed appropriately in central filing.
  • Control claims and premium register.
  • Performs additional duties/assignments as directed by Manager.

Eligibility Requirements

The eligibility Requirements for role of Insurance Coordinator are as under:

  • Higher Diploma in Commerce or a related field.
  • B.Com or BA in economics.
  • 4-5 years, Insurance experience within international insurance company in all fields.
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas Industry preferred.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

  • Excellent communication in English (written and verbal).
  • Self motivated, quick learner/initiative.
  • IT literate, Microsoft office excel / access / word.
  • Ability to work independently, including the generation of documents/correspondence.
  • Attention to detail/accurate.
  • Interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic.
  • Familiar with insurance customs/practice and corporate insurance requirements.
  • Possess underwriting, claim handling & settlement expertise in all classes of marine, non-marine & personal line insurance.
