The School of Computer Science, at the University of Wollongong in Dubai is seeking to appoint a dynamic and talented computer science instructor with expertise in one or many of the following areas: System and network security, modern cyber security, and Ethical Hacking. The Computer Science instructor is expected to contribute to the delivery of common foundational subjects in programming, database management, web technologies, and networking. The Instructor position is suitable for applicants who are looking to gain experience to develop their scholarly career.

Job Purpose

  • The position holder is also expected to conduct tutorials and laboratory experiments in the broad areas related to, Computer and Network Security, Cryptography, Ethical Hacking, and general tutorial and labs related to computer science such as programming, database management, web technologies, and networking.
  • The position holder expected to contributed to school events, recruitment activities, and relevant committees and governance requirements.

Job Requirements of Instructor Computer Science

  • Minimum qualification includes a Master’s degree in Computer Science from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in similar role.
  • Working knowledge and experience with Computer Organization, Architecture, Networking.
  • Working knowledge and experience with operating systems: Linux, ubuntu, Windows, IOS,.
  • Android Knowledge and experience of cloud computing.
  • Teaching experience in Computer labs and tutorials.
  • Extensive experience in programming (C/C++, Java, Python) and in scripting languages.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, faculty, and staff. Fluency in English language (both spoken and written).
  • Working knowledge of common information and cyber security tools i.e. Wireshark, Kali Linux, John the Ripper, Metasploit, Tcpdump, Nikto, Forcepoint, Paros Proxy, Nmap, Nessus Professional, Nexpose, TrueCrypt, Netstumbler, Aircrack ng, KeyPass, Splunk, Tor, Nagios, OSSEC, POf, Snort, Acunetix, Argus, Bitdefender, Malwarebytes, LifeLock, Mimecast, Webroot.
