Job Description

A job is open in Abu Dhabi for someone who’s confident working hands-on with engines. POWERTECH is looking for an Installation Technician to handle engine setups inside their testing areas. It’s not your average technician role this one deals with gas turbines, so precision and experience really matter. As a Installation Technician your job  involves feed and safe engine, and ensures that everything is correct, and equipment management equipment most people do not touch a regular workshop. If you have worked around hydrolika, pneumatics or electrical systems, it’s a big plus. They hire full -time work, and you will work closely with other technical teams below and later during the layout. You’ll also be expected to know your way around safety standards and documentation. Pay is based on experience, and the role needs someone who’s ready to get moving soon.

Installation Technician

Responsibilities

  • Set up and secure gas turbine engines in test bays.
  • Follow technical drawings and diagrams during installation.
  • Align all parts properly no guesswork.
  • Help transport and position the engine carefully.
  • Handle toolkits and check all hookups before tests.
  • Fix issues after setup if things don’t go as planned.
  • Keep notes on everything you install or adjust.
  • Work with teams handling fuel, instruments, and controls.
  • Report progress and any issues to the test facility manager.

Requirements and Qualifications

Education

No degree is needed, but a diploma in mechanical or aerospace technology helps.

Experience

  • 5 to 7 years in a technical role like this, preferably around turbines or engines.
  • An aerospace or defense background is ideal.
  • Should know how to handle forklifts, hoists, and engine lifting tools.

Skills

  • Can read and follow mechanical drawings.
  • Good with measurements and getting alignments right.
  • Solid troubleshooting mindset.
  • Comfortable working under pressure.
  • Team player with an eye for safety.

Knowledge

  • How turbine engines are mounted and secured.
  • General safety rules in testing facilities.
  • Tools used for engine installation.
  • How to avoid damage during engine movement.
  • Basic electrical and fluid system understanding.
