Job Purpose of An Innovation Expert
- Holds the responsibility for researching and exploring innovative and creative mobility.
- Reporting directly to Partnership and Innovation Director, this role’s contribution will be essential in elevating overall travel experience for passengers.
Job Duties of An Innovation Expert
- Strategic Road mapping: Spearhead a culture of innovation within the company by developing and implementing a strategic roadmap that aligns with mission to revolutionize rail transportation.
- Ideation and Research: Lead cross brainstorming sessions to generate novel ideas and concepts that have the potential to shape railway technology, operations and customer experiences.
- Technology Scouting: Stay at the forefront of emerging technologies, identifying those with potential applications in the railway operations.
- Proof of concept: Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop and test prototypes, validating the feasibility and effectiveness of innovative passenger services solutions.
- Rapid Prototyping: Drive the agile development of prototypes, facilitating iterative feedback and refining designs to ensure optimal performance and user centricity.
- Stakeholder Management: Work closely both internal teams & external stakeholders including engineering, design, marketing & operational teams to integrate innovation into all aspects of products and services.
- Industry Collaboration: Establish partnerships with research companies, start ups, technology firms and industry thought leaders to leverage collective expertise and amplify company’s innovation efforts.
- Thought Leadership: Contribute to industry conferences, publications and forums to share insights, showcase company’s innovations & position Etihad Rail Mobility as a leader in railway transformation.
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in transportation management, urban planning, traffic engineering, industrial engineering, logistics or supply chain management.
- At least 8 years of experience in Transport or equivalent planning services.
- Proven experience in greenfield transportation projects.
- At least 5 years experience in the Middle East and GCC.
Skills & Knowledge Desired
- Understanding of multi modal transport solutions.
- Experience of managing multiple external stakeholders and contractors as part of a wider programme of rail service delivery.
- Process oriented, well organized with a high level of attention to detail.
- Structured problem solving, detail oriented and customer first attitude.
- Excellent planning, project management and organisational structuring skills.
- Exceptional skills in transport planning tools and modelling software.
- In depth knowledge of current best in practice first/last mile providers, systems, technology and innovation.
- Exceptional attention to detail & customer focus.
- Dynamic and able to work in a fast paced environment.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills for building partnerships and relationships with stakeholder.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and accessibility standards in the transportation sector.
