Job Description
The Inclusion Teacher plays a crucial role in promoting an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with diverse needs and abilities. They collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement strategies that meet the unique educational requirements of students with disabilities or learning differences. The Inclusion Teacher fosters an inclusive classroom culture, supports individual student growth, and ensures equal access to educational opportunities for all students.
Responsibilities of Inclusion Teacher
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators and support staff to develop and implement inclusive practices that meet the needs of students with disabilities or learning differences.
- Plan and deliver individualized and differentiated Mathematics and English lessons to the students who attend flourish classes.
- Assess individual student needs and create individualized education plans (IEPs) or accommodation plans to address their unique learning requirements.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with disabilities or learning differences within the general education classroom, adapting instructional strategies and materials as needed.
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that promotes understanding, respect, and acceptance of students’ diverse abilities and backgrounds.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to modify and differentiate curriculum content, instructional techniques. Assessment methods to ensure equitable access to learning for all students.
- Support students’ social emotional development by providing guidance, counseling, and fostering positive relationships within the inclusive classroom.
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders to create a strong partnership focused on meeting the unique needs of students with disabilities or learning differences.
- Utilize assistive technology and specialized instructional tools to enhance student’s learning experiences. facilitate their participation in the general education curriculum.
- Monitor and document student progress, collect data, and provide regular feedback to students, parents. Inclusion leads to inform instructional decision making.
- Support and guide teachers to practice quality first teaching in order to implement the provision for all learners.
- Collaboratively work with all members of the department to enhance the quality of the inclusion department across the school.
Job Requirements of Inclusion Teacher
- B.Ed. or Bachelors degree with PGCE / PGDE or equivalent.
- Maximum 2 year experience in similar role.
Skills & Knowledge Desired
- Skilled teacher with solid commitment to teaching and learning and strong subject knowledge in relevant area.
- Excellent communication skills able to build relationships with students and colleagues and contribute to wider school life.
