Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities (IACAD) is actively seeking suitably qualified candidate for job role of an Imam. The aspiring candidate must have requisite Islamic background in order to be eligible for this role. This job role is open for all nationalities, however, priority would be given to the UAE nationals. Job Purpose of An Imam

Responsible for the routine affairs of mosque starting from management / organization to routine operations as per rules set by the IACAD.

Job Duties of An Imam

• Compliance with all laws, regulations and regulations issued by the department.
• To perform the tasks of imamate in the mosques where assigned.
• Supervising the employees of the mosque from the job of muezzin and below and to ensure that they perform tasks assigned to them.
• Giving religious lessons in the mosque according to the approved plan.
• Monitor the religious and cultural activities conducted in mosque and ensure that they are in line with the rules and regulations.
• Holding seminars, memorizing and reciting the Holy Quran in the mosque.
• Prevent the collection of donations in the mosques premises.
• Stop people from sleeping inside mosque.
• Participate in the activities & religious events of the department when asked to do so.
• Responsible for safety of mosque facilities and follow the requirements of security and safety.
• Get the approval of all advertisements or materials for publishing purpose.
• Preserve the books, Quranic and sound recordings of the mosque library.
• To perform the adhaan in the absence of the muezzin.
• Report technical faults of equipment.
• Supervise the cleanliness of the mosque and all the facilities.
• Follow the timings for opening, closing and for lights off as set by the department.
• Keep the area green in the mosque premises.

Qualification & Experience

• Recognized legal diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of experience in same role.
• Knowledge of the provisions of Tajweed and recitation.
