Looking for IB Core TOK Teacher jobs in Dubai? Gems Dubai American Academy (DAA), part of the GEMS Education network in the UAE, is currently hiring an IB Core/TOK Teacher for an August 2026 start. About the Role
As an IB Core TOK Teacher at Gems Dubai American Academy, you will deliver the Theory of Knowledge component of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme to senior students. Furthermore, you will guide learners to think critically about knowledge itself and explore the connections between different areas of learning. The successful candidate will also contribute to the wider IB Core programme, including supporting Extended Essay supervision and CAS coordination where needed.
Key Responsibilities for IB Core TOK Teacher at Gems Dubai American Academy
- Teach Theory of Knowledge (TOK) to IB Diploma students in line with the current IB curriculum framework
- Plan and deliver stimulating lessons that encourage critical thinking, open-mindedness, and intellectual curiosity
- Support students through the TOK essay and exhibition assessment components
- Collaborate with subject teachers to develop interdisciplinary connections across the IB programme
- Contribute to the broader IB Core programme, including Extended Essay mentoring and CAS activities
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant subject area (B.Ed. or PGCE preferred)
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching TOK or IB-related programmes
- Strong understanding of the IB philosophy, assessment criteria, and learner profile
- Experience in an international school setting is an advantage
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organisational skills
