As an HSE Inspector at Duncan & Ross, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and standards on airport project site. You will be responsible for monitoring and promoting a safe work environment, conducting inspections, and implementing corrective actions to prevent accidents and injuries. Duties of A HSE Inspector
- Conduct regular inspections of the airport project site to identify potential health, safety, and environmental hazards.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, international standards, and company HSE policies and procedures.
- Monitor and enforce the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by all workers and subcontractors.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for preventive measures.
- Provide HSE training and induction sessions for new employees and subcontractors.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to develop and implement effective HSE plans and procedures.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety meetings to promote awareness and communication of HSE issues.
- Participate in emergency response drills and provide support during emergencies or incidents.
- Maintain accurate records of HSE inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and implement measures to minimize the project’s environmental footprint.
- Support HSE audits and assessments conducted by clients, regulatory authorities, or third-party organizations.
- Identify areas for continuous improvement and propose initiatives to enhance the project’s HSE performance.
Eligibility Requirements
The eligibility requirements for role of a HSE Inspector are as under:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
- Professional certification in HSE management (e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH) is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HSE inspection and management, preferably in the construction industry.
Knowledge & Skills Desired
- In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices applicable to construction projects.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to HSE risk management.
- Proficiency in using HSE management software and tools for data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
