As an HSE Engineer at Duncan & Ross, you will be an integral part of their team during the engineering phase of oil and gas projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards are effectively implemented and maintained throughout the project lifecycle, from initial design to project completion. Your expertise will contribute to creating a safe and sustainable work environment for our employees and stakeholders. This is a mid level full time role. Responsibilities of A HSE Engineer

  • HSE Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive HSE plans, policies, and procedures tailored to the specific requirements of each project, in accordance with applicable regulations and industry best practices.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential HSE hazards and risks associated with project activities, and develop mitigation measures to minimize these risks.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant HSE laws, regulations, and standards, as well as company policies and client requirements. Obtain necessary permits and approvals as required.
  • Training and Awareness: Organize and facilitate HSE training programs and awareness campaigns for project personnel to promote a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance.
  • Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into HSE incidents, near misses, and accidents, and develop corrective and preventive actions to address root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Safety Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of project sites, facilities, and equipment to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with HSE standards and procedures.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Develop emergency response plans and procedures, conduct drills and exercises. Ensure that adequate resources and personnel are available to respond effectively to emergencies.
  • Environmental Management: Implement measures to minimize environmental impact. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including waste management, pollution prevention, and conservation initiatives.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of HSE activities, incidents, inspections, and training sessions. Prepare timely reports for management, clients, and regulatory authorities as required.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor HSE performance metrics, analyze trends, and identify opportunities for improvement. Implement initiatives to enhance HSE performance and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements For HSE Engineer

The eligibility requirements for role of a HSE Engineer are as under:

  • Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or related field. Certification in HSE management is preferred.
  • Proven experience 5+ years in HSE management within the oil and gas industry, preferably with EPC contractors.

Knowledge & Skills Desired

  • Strong knowledge of relevant HSE regulations, standards, and best practices applicable to oil and gas projects (e.g., OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with project teams, clients, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Proficiency in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and HSE audits.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement HSE plans, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel and work at project sites as required.
