Job Description

Emirates Airline is seeking qualified and experience candidate for the job position of a HR Specialist Governance & Compliance in Dubai. The selected candidate will be responsible to facilitate efficient and rewarding employee experiences across all people lifecycle dimensions, such as performance management, productivity, learning and professional development, attrition and retention. Role Holder will apply process improvement and standardization frameworks, quality assurance (management & control) principles and continuous monitoring compliance controls across process, system and data landscapes and support Enterprise Strategic Themes such as Regulatory Compliance, Business Agility & Efficiency, Business Growth, and Employee Experience.

Responsibilities of HR Specialist Governance & Compliance

  • Enable process governance by conducting, in collaboration with the People Experience design team, process landscape assessments across the People Experience lifecycle and the entire “one HR” organisation’s activities to determine process effectiveness and eliminate inefficiencies. Implement innovative solutions such as Chabot’s, AI-driven process steps and other Robotic Process Automation (RPA) interventions that improve workflow, operations, and staff performance.
  • Support the consequent change management required to implement process changes. Ensure that all processes related to the entire employee lifecycle are fully GDPR compliant and in line with international best practices.
  • Support industry research activities that proactively identify best practices on process governance with regards to improved and automated business processes and accordingly validate and collate current & future process/technology/data needs of the one HR organisation. Champion a culture of autonomy, openness and continuous process improvement based on lean-agile principles.
  • Support the implementation of the “one HR” data governance strategy in alignment with Emirates Group corporate governance and compliance requirements across the three main dimensions of Data Governance, i.e. a) Data Protection (Access, Security and Privacy), b) Data Quality Assurance and c) Metadata Management.
  • Perform data governance operational activities with ED&A and with a network of business Data Stewards (specialist level) and business privacy leads from across the “one HR” organisation to ensure that people data is governed correctly and treated as a corporate asset across all technology and analytics assets in own source systems and the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP).
  • Support the HR Data & Analytics function in the definition of analytics self-service model for business users across the “one HR” organisation.

What You Will Do More

  • Enable data risk & compliance practices through the collaboration with specialist business Data Stewards and with HR internal teams such as: a) the HR Data & Analytics function. To ensure data quality and metadata management necessary for the construction of quality data models and relevant metric and KPI definitions and b) the HR Shared Services and Employee Data Management team. To ensure implementation of agreed data quality and protection controls across all dimensions of employee data.
  • In collaboration with the HR Governance & Compliance Manager, implement an internal quality. Control framework for the efficient functioning of all processes across all sections within the “one HR” organisation. Evaluate process risk profiles, design and implement steps to cover the risks identified. Continuously monitor and improve the effectiveness of internal control.
  • Support knowledge management practices by curating and monitoring the content and compliance of all People Experience manuals and related documentation. To ensure they remain a relevant and accurate key source of information.
  • Work with the Systems & Technology and Data & Analytics teams to maintain all user-owned documentation of technology and analytics assets. Including the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Implement any identified documentation changes required due to new business requirements, system upgrades and business process changes
  • Facilitate training & adoption of process and data governance for the entire “one HR” team through coaching, lean academy, business privacy lead and analytics power users training and development, systems and process/SOP training and data management practices that ensure compliance data governance.

Requirements for Role of HR Specialist Governance & Compliance

The eligibility requirements for role of HR Specialist Governance & Compliance are as under:

  • Industrial Engineering.
  • 5+ years’ relevant experience including (but not limited to).
  • Experience of working in a multi-cultural expatriate environment.
  • Experience working with a compliance or audit function within a business.
  • Experience in the airline industry and/or in HR systems and products is desirable.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

  • Process improvement techniques such as supply chain management, Lean, Six Sigma etc.
  • Project Management and business consultancy in operational and supporting areas.
  • Innovation and Robotic Process Automation techniques.
  • Individuals to deliver business benefits.
  • Ability to multi-task and work across various departments with strict deadlines and to navigate competing interests across stakeholders.
  • Business presentation and effective communication skills, both written and verbal, at all stakeholder levels.
  • Ideally possess some level of knowledge of HR user/functional environment, Oracle ERP system. Other leading HR Systems related to different business areas, to become a knowledge contributor for the various business stakeholders.
  • Be digitally dexterous in his/her everyday work. Possess strong analytical skills with proven ability to produce and analyse reports of high quality.
  • Ability to contribute intelligently in translating data to actionable insights. Developing specific metrics to help business stakeholders navigate their business.
  • Strong understanding of industry best practices in relation to analytics, systems and governance within a large organisation or business unit.
  • Strong working knowledge of technologies such as Power BI, Microstrategy, SAP BO, SQL and Python is desirable.
