Job Description
The Aquila School (part of International Schools Partnership, ISP) is currently hiring suitable candidate for job role of HR Manager in Dubai. The HR Manager role is responsible for the full employee lifecycle from recruitment to exit in accordance with the labour law, in alignment with the relevant external regulatory bodies as well as internal group guidelines. The professional plays an active role in the day to day running of school and supports vision of being the school of choice & employer of choice within the ommunity. The role of HR Manager is to work with departments to build & maintain positive working environment, ensure fair people processes, ensure transparent & effective communication pertaining to people related items & promote wellbeing & engagement with a focus on employee experience.
Responsibilities of HR Manager
The responsibilities of HR Manager are listed as under:
Talent Attraction/Acquisition/Onboarding /Offboarding:
- Lead the recruitment process in accordance with safer recruitment process from identifying vacancies, reviewing staffing structures, placing job ads, ensuring budgets, creating job descriptions, scheduling interviews, screening candidates, compiling interview feedback forms, background checks, references, child protection certificates, creating job offers and contracts.
- Ensuring external contractors are on single central register and have met the necessary safeguarding requirements to be on school’s premises.
- Follow a full onboarding and induction process for each employee and external contractor, including uploading documents to the HR system.
- Ensuring all exiting employees have participated in an exit interview and all clearances have been completed including final settlement payments.
HR Operations
- Manage human resources operations at school level.
- Own the ISP people strategy with direction from ISP regional office across the school with accountability for talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, safeguarding, succession planning, employee relations and retention, regional regulations, ISP compliance and local labour relations.
- Provide information and reports on data such as employee turnover, references, cost per hire, training hours per person etc.
- Comply with regional federal and local legal requirements and advise on required actions including areas such as teacher licensing and KHDA/ADEK requirements.
- Manage systems for attendance recording and work alongside the finance manager to produce the monthly payroll.
Organizational Development
- Improve organizational effectiveness through the development and deployment of solutions to improve productivity and drive a performance culture.
- Consult with ISP ME team and school leadership teams on change management opportunities, provide guidance on resources, processes and tools.
- Serve as partner to provide advice on organisational design issues.
Talent Management
- Implement succession planning and key talent reviews, ensure an effective use of the performance development process, learning improvement plans and internal move/ development opportunities.
- Coordinate succession planning with ISP ME team key stakeholders and the school leadership team.
Talent Development/Further Education
- Promote development courses on internal learning hub and work with line managers on CPD opportunities for academic as well as non academic colleagues aligned with the conducted talent reviews.
- Ensure performance management opportunities are in place for all colleagues to enhance their ability to achieve goals.
- Manage employee training programs, particularly for admin colleagues and budgets.
Employee Engagement
- Collect feedback through various channels NPS surveys, onboarding surveys, employee engagement surveys, exit interviews etc.
- The HR Manager can work with the engagement lead and together they are responsible for working with the principal on feedback action planning and internal communication.
Emiratisation/ Nationalisation
- Ensuring all emiratisation quotas have been met and full compliance on Nafis and GPSSA.
Employee Value Proposition
- Understands the value proposition school is offering to candidates (internal and external) and positions the school as an employer of choice when advertising roles.
- The HR Professional demonstrates good online skills, social media posting on success stories to create and maintain a positive profile of the school and organisation.
- Management of the school LinkedIn account is a requirement of the role.
Wellbeing
- Ensure the school has a provision for wellbeing activities, the private medical insurance annual negotiation must include an employee assistance programme and support a good value proposition for employees.
- Work with the Principal on other wellbeing initiatives within the school such as health road shows, healthy eating promotion, work life balance activities etc.
Requirements for Role HR Manager
- CIPD, SHRM or degree in HR related field.
- Atleast 3 years of experience of being a school HR Manager in Middle East.

- The ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively.
- Active listener and the ability to understand information and ideas as presented verbally and in writing.

- Ability to communicate perfectly in written and spoken English, Arabic is an advantage but not mandatory.

Working Schedule
- Hours of work: 7.15am to 4:00pm or 7:30 am to 4:15 pm Monday to Thursday and up to 12 noon on Friday, plus occasional evening and weekend work.
- Holidays: 30 working days per year. School asks the post holder not to take leave from the second week of August to the second week of September.
