Responsibilities of Health & Safety Officer
- Keeps the Quality & Sustainability Manager informed of all Health & Safety related matters.
- Liaises with Management personnel and all employees and assists with health and safety.
- Liaises with local law enforcement and Fire & Safety officials.
- Maintains proper grooming at all times.
- Attends training classes as per schedule.
- Shows fullest cooperation and respect within the team and other departments.
- Is aware of the daily activities and has product knowledge of all the hotel facilities.
- Carries out inspections of workplaces and takes appropriate action to ensure compliance.
- Responds to and investigates concerns and complaints from workers/employers and takes appropriate action.
- Investigates accidents and injuries that occur in the workplace.
- Responsible for the establishment of, and monitors the performance of, workplace safety and health committees.
- May participate in the delivery of related educational programs and disseminates information to the public.
- Ensures all staff is thoroughly familiar with the Resort’s emergency procedures and in a state of preparedness for any emergency which may occur.
- In case of a high hazard area identified, closes the facility area/work and reports to HOD, GM, and Security.
- Reviews Duty Manager/Night Manager book daily and takes corrective action when concerned.
- Is familiar with all related company documentation and especially with the relevant Operational Standards Manual for his/her field of responsibility.
- Keeps updating the emergency manual, with appropriate procedures and forms with the consultation of Quality & Sustainability Manager.
- To train existing employees and newcomers on a regular basis with live fire drills.
- Conducts and executes skills/technical training within his/her area of responsibility on a regular basis.
General/Miscellaneous
- Ensures all staff is thoroughly familiar with the hotel’s emergency procedures and in a state of preparedness for any emergency which may occur.
- Is familiar with all related company documentation and especially with the relevant Operational Standards Manual for his/her field of responsibility.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Special Responsibilities:
- Assist in Task Force Teams for new openings.
- Carry out any other reasonable task (which may not be stated here) as requested.
Requirements of Health & Safety Officer
- University Degree in related field.
- NEBOSH IGC certified.
- Minimum 2 years in a similar role with a five star hotel preferably in the UAE.
