Head of Inclusion – GEMS Education, Dubai

GEMS Education is seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Inclusion for one of its premium schools in Dubai. This leadership role involves overseeing special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) provision, ensuring that every student receives the support they need to thrive academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Inclusion department, managing a team of SEN teachers, learning support assistants and counsellors
• Develop and implement the school’s inclusion policy and SEND strategy
• Oversee the identification, assessment and support of students with additional needs
• Coordinate Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and ensure their effective implementation
• Liaise with external specialists, therapists and educational psychologists
• Ensure compliance with KHDA inclusion requirements and UAE SEND legislation
• Provide training and CPD for teaching staff on inclusive classroom practices

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, Inclusive Education or Educational Psychology
• PGCE, QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
• Minimum 5 years of experience in SEND provision with at least 2 in a leadership role
• Detailed knowledge of KHDA inclusion standards and SEND Code of Practice
• Experience with a range of learning difficulties including ASD, ADHD, dyslexia and speech and language needs
• National SENCo Award or equivalent is desirable
