Head of Foundation Stage – GEMS Cambridge International School, Sharjah
GEMS Cambridge International Private School in Sharjah is seeking an experienced Head of Foundation Stage to lead the FS1 and FS2 departments. This senior leadership role requires an outstanding early years practitioner with the vision and expertise to drive teaching and learning excellence across the Foundation Stage.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Foundation Stage team across FS1 and FS2
- Develop and implement the EYFS curriculum, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning
- Monitor and evaluate staff performance through observations, coaching and appraisals
- Oversee assessment, reporting and tracking of student progress across Foundation Stage
- Drive innovation in early years pedagogy including play-based and inquiry-led learning
- Manage Foundation Stage budgets, resources and learning environments
- Liaise with parents, senior leadership and external inspectors
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
- PGCE, QTS or equivalent with Early Years specialism
- Minimum 5 years of teaching experience with at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of EYFS framework and KHDA/ADEK inspection standards
- Proven track record of raising standards and improving outcomes in early years
- Experience in a British curriculum international school preferred
Salary and Benefits
- Tax-free salary: AED 20,000 – 28,000 per month
