Responsibilities of Head Nurse Labor Room

• To provide strong leadership and management guidance to the team.
• To ensure evidence based patient care practices are followed as per clinical standards.

• To manage allocated clinical and non-clinical resources in a cost efficient and effective manner to enhance safe patient care.
• To monitor and manage compliance with legislative, regulatory and clinical standards to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Eligibility Criteria

For the role of Head Nurse Labor Room, at Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital, the following is required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Midwifery; OR Diploma in Nursing & Midwifery AND Bachelor or Nursing; OR Bachelor or Nursing AND post graduate or Master’s Degree in Obstetric and Gynecology or Maternal Nursing is a must have.
• Master of Science in Midwifery or related Healthcare field is desirable.
• At least 3-5 years’ senior nursing experience, preferably in a private hospital.
• 5-10 years senior nursing experience is a plus.

Skills & Knowledge

• Demonstrate the ability to implement all five (5) stages of the Scientific Nursing Process (assessment, planning, nursing diagnosis, implementation and evaluation).
• Presentation Skills.
• Knowledge of UAE Labour Law.
• Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Understanding of Cost management principles.
• Demonstrate Nursing functional competence (Nursing practice).
• Demonstrate the ability to manage meetings effectively.
• Quality management and governance standards and best practice.
• Risk management principles, systems and best practice.
• Skilled in the demonstration and assessment of all relevant clinical procedures.
• Stock control principles and management.
• UAE healthcare regulatory framework and related requirements.
• Workforce planning and scheduling.
