An opportunity has arisen for a Head Chef to join team in upcoming Japanese Signature Outlet at Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab at Jumeirah Beach Road, Dubai, United Arab Emirates . This is an Intermediate level full time job. For this job the salary ranges from 6000-12000 AED/month which may be slightly negotiable during interview process.
Responsibilities of Head Chef
- Develop creative seasonal menus and oversee tastings.
- Contribute to recipe writing and food photography for publications.
- Cultivate relationships with suppliers for seasonal ingredients.
- Collaborate with the marketing team and the F&B management for the building of the outlet concept and promotion.
- Stay informed about industry trends and competition and implement any competitive advantage.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained to business standards and report any issues promptly.
- Enforce cleaning schedules to business standards, addressing deficiencies promptly.
- Organize internal and external events, including team building to foster a motivated work environment.
- Oversee stock rotation and storage procedures, minimize food wastage.
- Maintain control over inventory and purchasing and update relevant systems promptly.
- Improve production methods and presentation for maximizing guest satisfaction.
- Fulfill other duties as requested by the management.
Requirements of Head Chef
- Bachelor’s degree or certificate in culinary arts.
- 2+ years previous or current experience in high-end Japanese restaurants (awarded/recognized) or within a luxury hospitality brand, preferably on an international level.
Skills and Knowledge Desired
- Strong background in culinary arts, with a solid knowledge of different cooking methods and techniques.
- Excellent leadership skills to effectively lead and train a large team.
