Dubai Ports (DP) World presently has a job opening for eligible candidate for position of a Group Senior Manager. The selected candidate will work to lead the DP World’s preparation in response to introduction of fresh UAE Corporate Income Tax (UAE CIT).  This job was posted by a DP World on 16 October 2023 and is now open for desirous applicants.

Purpose of A Group Manager

  • The main purpose of the role is to project lead DP World Group’s readiness for the introduction of UAE corporate income tax.
  • Ensure timely and correct submissions of UAE tax reporting packs to Group Tax from 2024 onwards and engage with all UAE businesses to ensure timely, correct and efficient tax compliance/return filings with the FTA as and when due.

Job Duties of A Group Manager

  • Lead and oversee that all DP World’s UAE entities and businesses are ready for the UAE Corporate Income Tax legislation.
  • Lead and oversee that all UAE CIT compliance related obligations and CIT payment/accrual obligations are dealt with accurately and in time by all UAE based DP World entities or businesses.
  • Work closely with the Group Tax team member responsible for Transfer Pricing to ensure that all UAE entities meet the UAE transfer pricing requirements
  • Ensure that the Disclosure Forms are ready and filed along-side the UAE tax returns in due course, plus ensure that all Local files are ready upon filing of the UAE tax returns.
  • Lead and support the preparation of UAE Tax packs in Oracle TRCS, including ensuring accurate opening tax balances, and support the recurring review of UAE entities tax packs during HY and YE close.
  • Provide tax technical input on all UAE CIT related questions raised by UAE (Finance) colleagues throughout the wider DP World Group
  • Lead and provide continuous training & education to relevant Finance staff within DP World Head-Office and other UAE Business Units on UAE CIT matters
  • Act as a centre of excellence for all UAE CIT related matters for peers within DP World Head Office and all other colleagues within the group.
  • Support overseeing DP World’s Pillar 2 (Global Minimum tax) related compliance obligations.
  • Provide tax technical input as needed to ensure meeting the initial 3 years’ Pillar 2 safe harbor rules.
  • Support the Group Tax team in DP World’s global bi-annual tax reporting process, by leading the review and evaluation of tax packs and related documents received for the monthly, interim as well as the year-end reporting cycle for UAE and other global Business Units/Legal entities.

What You’ll Do More?

  • Review software options related to UAE CIT return submissions and possibly also Pillar 2 filing obligations and bring forward recommendations to senior managements to purchase such software tools.
  • Assist the Group SVP Tax as well as other Group Tax team members with any other tasks/on going projects as so assigned in relation to the UAE CIT obligations and Pillar 2 obligations for the DP World group, such as updates of applicable tax rates, introduction of further UAE legislative changes.
  • Responsible for management of individual team members, promoting collaboration and ensuring that each is developed and evaluated against goals and objectives.
  • Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working.
  • Promoting and demonstrating positive behaviors in harmony with DP World’s Principles, values and culture.
  • Ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities.
  • Understanding and following DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies.

Who Can Apply?

Qualification

  • Professional qualification such as Chartered Accountant from tax service line of a Big 4 firm, ideally CTA qualified.

Experience

  • At least 10 years post qualification experience in tax reporting and compliance.
  • Proven experience in preparing complex corporation tax returns and related computations.
  • Proven experience managing tax reporting and consolidation so as to be able to retrieve & understand relevant data for Corporation Tax return preparation purposes.
  • Experience working in the Middle East would be advantageous.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

  • Good communicator with solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good commercial awareness and understanding of business needs.
  • Strong Excel skills in retrieving data from ERP such as Oracle Fusion (FCCS, TRCS).
  • Fluency in English, Arabic would be a plus.
