Graduate Resident Life Officer Khalifa University Abu Dhabi

Graduate Resident Life Officer at Khalifa University Abu Dhabi is responsible to contribute to the onboarding of students, as well as the new student orientation program, to support the new students’ successful transition and living experience in KU Campus.

Duties of Graduate Resident Life Officer

  • Place highest priority on student safety and security and follow up to ensure residence / housing arrangements meet the highest safety, health and security standards.
  •  Handle hostel related queries in person, by email and phone from students, prospective students and parents.
  • Respond positively to resident concerns or challenges and resolve them in accordance with relevant policy and procedures.
  • Monitor the operations of resident life services to ensure efficiency and excellent performance. Ensure the housing and residence life needs of students with needs are identified prior to their entry to university and addressed in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate rooms to residents, keys and track occupancy on a regular basis.
  • Educate residents about their responsibilities in areas such as health, safety and security and respect for the rights of each member of the residence community.
  • Advise and interpret University and Residential Life policies and procedures to residents.
  • Enforce University and Residential Life policies through administration of the disciplinary process. Report incidents of conflict between/among residents and resident life staff and work towards resolving it.
  • Support with the planning of social, educational, and recreational activities and coordinate implementation with other stakeholders as appropriate.
  •  Assist residents in adjusting to university life and community living.
  •  Conduct timely review and completion of accommodation brochure, accommodation handbooks and other information including the website promoting the accommodation support available to students.

What Will You Do More

  • Prepare reports for the Supervisor, Housing & transportation including complaints, requests to vacate residences, contact queries and rent arrears.
  • Report and follow up on maintenance requests and be ‘on call’ for the campus on designated evenings and weekends as needed.
  •  Coordinate efforts with the Enrolment team to ensure student intake data is available for timely allocation of residence/ housing.
  •  Support the planning, coordination and execution processes of special projects/assignments such as renovations/enhancements of residential buildings/spaces, students’ relocations…etc.
  •  Liaise with other offices to process financial matters such as housing rental payments, deposits, damage charges…etc.
  • Support the ongoing occupancy management and housing prediction plans for short/long term periods.
  • Obtain student’s feedback on Resident Life Services and contribute to the evaluation process of students’ satisfaction.
  • Adhere to the University’s information security and confidentiality policies and procedures, and report breaches or other security risks accordingly.
  • Coordinate with other departments to facilitate the accomplishment of tasks and responsibilities, as and when needed.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the Line Manager.

Job Requirements of Graduate Resident Life Officer

  • Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 year experience in similar role.
