Dubai Ports (DP) World presently has a job opening for eligible candidate for position of a Global Process Governance Manager. The selected candidate, as the Manager of Process Governance, will establish and oversee process governance frameworks, ensure compliance with industry regulations and champion initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and quality within global air and ocean freight teams. This role also involves managing EDI projects, coordinating with internal & external stakeholders & ensuring efficient electronic data exchange to optimise business processes.

Purpose of A Global Process Governance Manager

To ensure the freight forwarding division works as one uniform network globally, ensure the data quality and the customer experience and develop a program of efficiency.

Duties of A Global Process Governance Manager

  • Develop and maintain standardised processes, workflows and documentation for air and ocean freight operations.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and best practices.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and completion of EDI implementation projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and requirements and create detailed plans.
  • Define functional requirements specifications for new systems developments and monitor communications between the business and the Tech team.
  • Ensure seamless data flow and accuracy between systems.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimisation and efficiency gains.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to implement process improvement projects.
  • Monitor and report on the progress and impact of improvement initiatives.
  • Continuously assess and optimise EDI processes and systems to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process enhancements.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure process effectiveness and quality.
  • Implement quality control measures and corrective actions as needed.
  • Monitor data quality and integrity, promptly identifying and resolving any data transmission errors.
  • Implement error-handling procedures to minimise disruptions.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members on process governance and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Foster a culture of learning and innovation within the global air and ocean freight teams.
  • Coordinate onboarding new trading partners, including carriers, suppliers, and customers, to enable EDI data exchange.
  • Facilitate communication and testing with external partners to ensure compliance with EDI standards.

  • Collect, analyse, and interpret data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather input and feedback for process enhancement.
  • Manage relationships with EDI service providers and technology vendors.
  • Negotiate contracts and service level agreements to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Monitor regulatory changes in the freight industry and ensure compliance.
  • Stay up to date with industry-specific EDI standards and compliance requirements, such as ANSI X12, EDIFACT, and AS2.
  • Implement and maintain EDI standards and guidelines within the organisation.
  • Mitigate operational risks through effective governance.
  • Responsible for the transversal management and leadership of an engaged team, promoting collaboration and ensuring that each is developed and evaluated against goals and objectives aligned, specific, measurable, attainable yet challenging, realistic and time-bound.
  • Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working.
  • Promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with DP World’s Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies.

Who Can Apply?

Qualification

  • Master’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Experience

  • 5-6 years proven experience in process governance, quality management, or continuous improvement in the logistics industry.
  • Proven experience in managing EDI implementations in the freight and logistics industry.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

  • Strong knowledge of EDI standards, protocols, and translation software.
  • Project management skills with the ability to plan, execute, and monitor projects
  • Strong understanding of air and ocean freight operations and regulations.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and process mapping tools
  • Exceptional communication and leadership abilities
