GIS Specialist Parsons Corporation Abu Dhabi

Parsons Corporation is looking for a talented GIS Specialist to join their team in Abu Dhabi. In this role, you will act as a subject matter expert representing Parsons while meeting with clients. This is a mid level full time role. For this position salary ranges from 12000 AED to 20000 AED, which may be slightly negotiatable during the interview process.

Responsibilities of A GIS Specialist

• Develop GIS Data Model for Dry Utilities especially for MCC/Falcon Eye.
• Ability to utilize, convert and incorporate various types of data into GIS.
• Data cleanup and integration from CAD to GIS Database.
• Connecting ArcGIS Enterprise to non-spatial datastores.
• Utilizing FME for data management and analysis.
• Meeting with clients as a subject matter expert..
• Drafting & updating GIS standards and user guides.
• Publish AGOL Web maps.
• Create GIS Maps and Reports.

Eligibility Requirements

The eligibility requirements for role of a GIS Specialist are as under:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or related curriculum (or equivalent) and typically 5+ years of related experience
• At least 5 years workplace GIS Utilities’ Data Management experience.
• Experience in ESRI ArcGIS Pro/FME/CAD.
• Experience working with SDE and non-spatial databases.
• Experience presenting to and meeting with clients.

Knowledge & Skills Desired

• Knowledge of programming and scripting languages such as Python , etc.
• Ability to design and maintain GIS databases and other database formats such as Microsoft Access, dBase, etc.
• Ability to utilize, convert and incorporate various types of data into GIS. Examples of this data include Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD), Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and database files.
• Proficiency in cartography and map design, including coordinating systems, projections, and map scales.
• Authorities GIS Standards and requirements of Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
• Also requires a demonstrated proficiency in both written and oral communication skills and a working knowledge of industry practices.
• Ability to communicate results of assigned tasks in writing.
• Ability to document work performed on a project in project logs.
• Ability to document specific information about project data in the metadata file.
• Proficiency in basic office automation software including MS-Word or MS-Excel.·.
• Ability to independently assess data anomalies, software problems, and program design flaws, and take appropriate steps to make the project work.
