Job Description

NMC Healthcare is actively recruiting qualified and dedicated candidates for the job position of a General Practitioner in Ras al-Khaimah. This is an Intermediate level full time job. And salary can range between 15000-35000 AED/month.

Responsibilities of General Practitioner

  • Decide the mode of treatment to the patient, if necessary, by utilizing the available/ prescribed diagnostic resources.
  • Provide effective treatment based on the best available evidence and refer the patients if necessary to another practitioner/specialist when this is in the patient’s best interests
  • Consult and take advice from colleagues Prescribe medicine(s) or treatment, including repeat prescriptions, only when adequate knowledge of the patient’s health status has been acquired and the medicine(s) or treatment serves the patient’s needs.
  • Ensure all patients are entitle to care and treatment to meet their clinical needs. Patient may not refused treatment because their medical conditions may pose a risk.
  • Adhere to a high standard of clinical consultations and physical examination(s).
  • Recognize and function within the limits of own clinical knowledge and competence.
  • Take all necessary action / steps to minimize the risk before providing treatment or make suitable alternative arrangements for treatment in emergency situations, considering own safety, competence, and the availability of other options for care.
  • Provide all relevant information about the patient, including their medical history, the results of the investigations, the treatment provided, current condition and any other information necessary for the continuation of care when referring a patient to another health care professional and follow the referral protocol.
  • Take full responsibility for own professional practice and always prepared to justify own decisions and actions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Monitor and provide general care to patients in General Medicine Department
  • Refer to the hospital who require special care, investigation(s) and treatment(s).
  • Examine and talk to patients to diagnose their medical conditions.
  • Make notes, both as a record of treatment and for referral.
  • Liaise with other medical and non-medical staff in the Medical Centre to ensure quality treatment.
  • Work with other doctors as part of a team and strictly adhere to follow internal referral policy.
  • All patient (appointment & walk-in) should consulted until the end of your duty hours. No patient should rejected or referred without consulting and proper documentation.
  • Promote health education among patients.
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable local regulations and requirements.
  • Developing and maintaining professional quality standards and recommending the improvement of such standards to meet those of the DHA / MOH.
  • Medicine samples should not stored, distributed, or promoted within the consultation room in accordance with the rules and regulations of MOH
  • Consult only the registered patient. At any point of time if a bystander needs consultation, advice the bystander to follow the registration process. No consultation shall happen without patient registration.

Requirements for Role of General Practitioner

  • MBBS
  • 3 years of experience as a General Practitioner.
