The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing all F&B operations, including staff management, menu development, financial performance, and guest satisfaction. Responsibilities Of General Manager Food and Beverage

  • Maintains standards to ensure that the customer experience is efficient, effective and hospitable.
  • The GM has overall responsibility of all aspects of the customer service, front and back of house.
  • The General Manager must fully understand and appreciate the different sections in the kitchen and the kitchen hierarchy.
  • GM must be fully versed in the brand standards and ensure that all colleagues are aware and also maintain these standards.
  • Must ensure that all colleagues have attained and retained the correct knowledge to complete the paperwork required for their station.
  • Ensures that all cash handlers have received the required training and follow the correct procedures for handling money.
  • Has exposure and understanding of HD business margins and the effects on overall profit.
  • Completes all forecasting for daily, weekly and monthly for both revenue and products.
  • Drives the use of these tools to a high standard.
  • Ensures that all rosters are in line with budget and business requirements and completed in time
  • Ensures that all maintenance issues are rectified as soon as possible by taking responsibility for any quotes required.
  • The GM will lead the team in food tastings, cocktail and wine list development and any other matters relating to the food and beverage offer.
  • Regularly sets targets and ensure the team are capable and incentivised to achieve these targets.
  • Communicates any issues immediately to Operations Manager or Director of Operations.
  • Actively monitor and uphold brand standards during shifts, ensuring unwavering consistency and quality.
  • Deals with all problems in an effective manner and ensures that the business or colleagues are not negatively affected.

What You’ll Do More?

  • GM must ensure that all colleagues have the correct knowledge required of their station by means of regular assessments, appraisals and on-going training.
  • Ensures that all vacation planning is completed, updated and in line with business requirements. Right people; right place/time.
  • Has a good understanding on the importance for benefits of training for the development of the colleagues.
  • The GM must ensure that relevant and stimulating training is part of all colleague work life and must undertake that all training is completed and recorded correctly.
  • The GM works closely with the HR Department at all times.
  • Proactively scout for talent and cultivate contacts to build and manage talent pools, driving the recruitment process from start to finish.
  • Meticulously conduct and submit all probationary and appraisal reviews on time, ensuring accurate paperwork and adherence to proper procedures.
  • The GM must be fully conversant with the wage costs and margins of flexibility within the team under the GM’s leadership. The GM must monitor and control these costs at all times.
  • Supports and promotes a culture of engagement at all times. Respects all colleagues and actively try’s to build a team culture.
  • Is a positive role model to their team. Continuously motivates and develops colleagues to achieve results.
  • Ensures that all rosters are in line with budget and business requirements and completed in time.
  • The GM will be fully responsible for all H&S in the restaurant.
  • Is fully responsible and accountable for ensuring that the whole outlet including the kitchen operates in accordance to local health and hygiene legislations.

Requirements Of General Manager Food and Beverage

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years experience at General Manager level (or equivalent).
