Charterhouse are currently managing a search for a leading retail client, whom are in the process of looking to hire a General Accountant, within their centralised finance team based in Dubai.
About the Role
- In support of the Regional Finance Manager, this Accountant shall take ownership of transactional accounting across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and General Ledger.
- Managing the Record-to-Report function, to support monthly/quarterly close of the accounts and the finalisation of financial statements.
- In conjunction, this role will extend to areas of Fixed Asset accounting along with the oversight and development of sales journals and reports, in support of management reporting and MIS commentaries.
- This General Accountant will also have responsibility for oversight of VAT filing, along with supporting the payroll and expense reporting aspects, whilst also having oversight of stock reconciliation and audit preparation from both a sales and inventory standpoint.
Requirements of General Accountant
- Qualified accounting professional, ideally whom is Certified or Chartered.
- 2-3 years of background of exposure to retail operations combined with a knowledge of the Middle East market.
Skills and Abilities Desired
- Hands-on ability to manage strong financial accounting tasks combined with an ability to manage and develop reports.
- Exposure to treasury-related functions whilst.
- Being able to handle collections and cash management.
- Exposure to SAP ERP, along with an advanced Excel skillset, for accounting and reporting purposes.
- Strong communication and commercial skills to manage broad-ranging internal relationships and any external commercial reporting.
